Seattle Beach Living: The Current Condo Market On Alki In West Seattle

Today while America commemorates Juneteenth, I will be hosting an Open House at a wonderful new listing on Alki Beach in Seattle.

If you’re not from Seattle, Alki is in my humble opinion the most beautiful beach in Seattle, with sandy beaches, beach volleyball, leisurely walks, eateries, terrific people-watching and even (for the cold-water tolerant) swimming in front of the full glory of Puget Sound, Olympic Mountains, Mount Baker, Space Needle and the Seattle Skyline.

In honor of the occasion, below is a snapshot of the current active condo market on Alki in Seattle. In brief, there are condos to match every budget, ranging from 299K to 2.7M. There are family sized condos with many bedrooms and bathrooms and sweeping views, to studios averaging well under 500K. About 90% of the active condos in Alki have some sort of a water view, either from the main living area or from an exclusive rooftop.

Youth is wasted on the young, and in another life I will live in a studio condo in West Seattle as a young person. I’ll start the day with a long run towards the skyline, lift weights in the building’s gym, have a beer with fish tacos for lunch, then drive out into the mountains 45 minutes away to hike before returning home to watch the sun set into the Olympic Mountains. I love my life now, but definitely missed some opportunities to have fun (for not too much money in relation to the average house in Seattle) in my 20s because if I’m honest with myself I took life just too seriously and fretted a little too much back then.
